I started writing when I was 12 years old. While I am much older now, I kept at it through high school, college, and beyond. My minor in Medieval Studies, where I focused on medieval literature, influenced my love of fantasy, mythology, folklore, and the weird.
After working on it for 12 years, my first book is coming out Summer 2025!
The Fall of Linda Waters has been a labor of love and grew along with me. Even though I plan to keep writing, this book and my characters has a special place in my heart.
I loved the idea of the character of Jack Frost and what it would be like if he was friends with a human, and it grew from there. My own experiences with grief also shaped the path of the book, and wanting to see more strong and realistic female and LGBTQ+ characters.
The title of the book comes from the saying “if you fall down seven times, you get up eight.” I like that there are different possible interpretations to the title: it could mean “fall” as in “autumn of Linda,” as well as Linda literally or figuratively falling into both her grief and her healing journey. Anything else could be a spoiler!
Rick Riordan, Terry Pratchett, and the Mabinogion strongly influenced, or at least inspired, me while I was writing my novel.
